Scope
SongDuel is operated by SSMK Consulting LLC (“SongDuel,” “we,” or “us”). SongDuel helps you import songs from Apple Music, compare them, build personal rankings, review ranking history, and create a Top 10 playlist you request.
SongDuel does not sell personal information and does not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Information SongDuel handles
Account information
When you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an account identifier and, depending on your Apple choices, a name and email address or private relay address. Authentication records and sessions are managed with Supabase.
Music and ranking data
SongDuel processes Apple Music metadata from the library and playlists you connect, including songs, artists, albums, playlists, artwork, provider identifiers, favorites when available, recent-listening, Replay, recommendation, and availability details. It stores this music metadata and the preference results associated with your SongDuel account so it can sync and restore your experience.
Product interaction
SongDuel stores your comparison choices, ranking changes, skips, scores, ranking snapshots, manually selected favorites, sync status, and playlist publishing state to operate and personalize your rankings.
Connected-service data
Apple Music authorization and user tokens are managed by Apple and MusicKit. SongDuel requests Apple Music access separately from account sign-in. Revoking music access does not delete or sign out your SongDuel account.
Website and technical data
This marketing site does not include advertising trackers or first-party analytics cookies. GitHub Pages and infrastructure providers may process standard request information, such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, to deliver and protect the site.
How information is used
We use information to:
- authenticate and secure your account;
- import the library and playlists you request;
- calculate rankings, movement, insights, and history;
- create or refresh a SongDuel playlist only when you ask;
- sync and restore data across your devices;
- provide support, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
Service providers and disclosures
SongDuel uses Supabase for authentication, database hosting, and server functions; Apple services for Sign in with Apple and Apple Music; and GitHub Pages to host this website. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, in connection with a business transaction, or to vendors working on our behalf. We do not allow vendors to use SongDuel data for their own advertising.
Retention and security
Account and ranking data is retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete local and cloud ranking data without signing out. Permanent account deletion asks you to confirm with the same Apple Account so SongDuel can revoke its Sign in with Apple grant before deleting your account and associated cloud data. Deletion may be subject to short-lived backup retention or limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
SongDuel uses encrypted transport, platform security features, access controls, row-level database policies, and the iOS Keychain where appropriate. No security method can guarantee absolute protection.
Your choices and rights
From Profile in the app, you can disconnect Apple Music, delete local and cloud ranking data without signing out, log out, or permanently delete your SongDuel account. You can also manage Apple Music permission in iOS Settings. Daily reminder notifications are optional and are requested only after you enable them.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. We may need to verify your request before acting.
Children
SongDuel is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy as SongDuel changes. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
